A 45-year-old man died on his way to a hospital in Uttar Pradesh's Saharanpur district after the 108 ambulance carrying him allegedly ran out of oxygen.

The unfortunate incident happened on Friday. However, the accusations made by his family were false, the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of the hospital BS Sodhi said.

"Family's allegations seem to be false as Emergency Medical Technician says oxygen cylinder went empty only in end, will still inquire," Sodhi said.

Although, a helper in the ambulance also admitted that there was shortage of oxygen in the emergency vehicle.

Just last month, a man was forced to carry the dead body of a relative on his shoulder after being allegedly denied an ambulance by a government hospital in Uttar Pradesh's Sambhal city.

Following that, the family carried the body on a motorcycle towards their home for the final rites.
