Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday expressed grief over the death of Unnao rape victim who was set ablaze while she was on her way to the court hearing. After battling for life, she died of cardiac arrest in a Delhi hospital yesterday.

The Chief Minister also said, all accused have been arrested and the case will be taken to a fast-track court.

On Thursday, the 23-year-old Unnao rape victim was set ablaze in the Bihar area of Uttar Pradesh's Unnao. The victim was referred to Lucknow hospital but later she was airlifted to Delhi after she suffered 90 per cent burn injuries.

"I have nothing really to say. My sister is no more with us, my only demand is that the five accused deserve death and nothing less," her bother said after she died in Safdarjung hospital.

Meanwhile, the girl's family on Friday said they have received death threats and that the callers have also threatened that they will set the shop on fire.

The victim's uncle and aunt and some other relatives who received threat calls said that they are living in fear.

The family has sought security from the police administration.

Notably, the woman had filed a rape case in March this year, which is under trial at a local court in Uttar Pradesh's Unnao.
