Prime Minister Narendra Modi will interact with the Chief Ministers on June 16 and 17 through video conferencing at 3 PM. Modi likely to hold a fresh round of consultation with chief ministers as the country gradually emerges out of coronavirus lockdown.
On June 16, Prime Minister will interact with 21 States and Union Territories - Punjab, Assam, Kerala, Uttrakhand, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Tripura, Himachal, Chandigarh, Goa, Manipur, Nagaland, Ladakh, Puducherry, Arunachal, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Dadar Nagar Haveli & Daman Diu, Sikkim and Lakshadweep.
This will be PM Modi’s sixth virtual meeting with the chief ministers since the first phase of the lockdown was announced on March 24 to contain the spread of the novel coronavirus. On June 8, states lifted several restrictions imposed earlier following the Centre’s directives on ‘Unlock 1’.
The government of India had imposed a nationwide lockdown on 25 March to combat the novel coronavirus spread.
Currently, the country is under the fifth phase of the lockdown which entails much more relaxations than the previous ones including rail, road and domestic air travel. However, the relaxations do not imply to the containment zones, which need to follow strict guidelines issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs from time to time.
