Three CRPF jawans killed in encounter with Maoists in Chhattisgarh

Three CRPF jawans were killed and another injured in an encounter with Naxals in Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh reported news agency PTI

The gun-battle took place near Keshkutul village under the Bhairamgarh police station area when a joint team of the CRPF's 199th battalion and local police was out on an area domination operation, IG (Bastar range) Vivekanand Sinha.

While two CRPF men were killed on the spot, another CRPF man later succumbed to injuries, officials said. 

The deceased CRPF personnel are assistant sub-inspectors Mahadeva P (50) and Madan Pal Singh (52) and head constable Saju O P (47).

On Thursday, a Naxal, carrying a reward of Rs 1 lakh on his head, was killed in an encounter with security forces in Sukma district of Chhattisgarh, police said.

The deceased Naxal was identified as Vanjam Budhu, in-charge of Nilamadgu Rural Party Committee (RPC) of Maoists, who was carrying a reward of Rs 1 lakh on his head,

Earlier on June 13, two Naxals were killed in an encounter with security forces in Chhattisgarh’s Kanker district.
