No tolerance towards those supporting violence: Syed Akbaruddin at UN

"Despite international community's efforts, those supporting terrorists affecting Afghanistan haven't deterred. There are still those who provide sanctuaries to support dark agenda of Taliban, Haqqani network, ISIS, Al Qaeda, LeT, Jaish-e-Mohammed," he said while talking about countering terrorism at the United Nation Security Council meeting.

Akbaruddin also talked about the challenges posed by cross-border terrorism "emanating from safe havens and sanctuaries".
"Indeed the challenges posed by cross-border terrorism emanating from safe havens & sanctuaries to Afghanistan and to our region must be addressed," he added further.
India's ambassador to UN also reiterated the continued stance of 'zero-tolerance' "for those who continue violence".

India on Thursday highlighted human rights violations by Pakistan at the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC).
India's response came after Pakistan raised the issue of human rights violations in Jammu and Kashmir.
Mini Devi Kumam, Second Secretary, India's Permanent Mission at UNHRC stated that "Pakistan has long been attempting to mask its territorial ambitions and use of terrorism as a state policy under the guise of concern for human rights".
The Indian representative also told the UNHRC that Pakistan was committing grossest violation of human rights by exporting terrorism to Jammu and Kashmir.
India also urged the UNHRC to call on Pakistan to end cross-border infiltration, to dismantle special terrorist zones, safe havens and sanctuaries, and to take verifiable actions, including on terror financing.
