The way women are treated in Tamil Nadu is 'shameful': Kamal Haasan
Actor-turned-politician Kamal Haasan today slammed the Tamil Nadu government and said that the way women are treated in Tamil Nadu is ''shameful''.
They say I'm funded by Christian missionaries & to that all I can do is laugh it off as it's false. It's not about actors becoming politicians it's about concerned citizens getting involved & the way women are treated here currently is shameful: #KamalHaasan in Erode, Tamil Nadu pic.twitter.com/FFrWB50Y4r

Beginning his two-day visit to Erode on Saturday, he addressed party cadre and the public at Perundurai, where he asked a party member to hoist the party flag.
Makkal Needhi Maiam leader said that changes will happen only if everyone comes together.
''They say I'm funded by Christian missionaries and to that all I can do is laugh it off as it's false. It's not about actors becoming politicians it's about concerned citizens getting involved,'' the actor said.
The way women are treated here currently is ''shameful'', he added.
The actor, who has been extremely vocal in his criticism of the ruling party in Tamil Nadu even before announcing his entry into politics, has stepped up the attack of late.
Asked what will be his message to the ruling AIADMK and the main opposition DMK, he said yesterday, "Mend your ways or we will step in."
