One terrorist killed, three terror associates held in different J&K operations

Jammu and Kashmir Police killed one terrorist belonging to Lashker-e-Toiba in an encounter in Turkwangam area of Shopian in South Kashmir. He has been identified as Muneeb Ahmad Sheikh, son of Shah Mohd Sheikh. He was a resident of Tak Mohalla Shopian and affiliated with proscribed terror outfit LeT.   

Jammu and Kashmir Police said the terrorist was a part of groups involved in several terror cases including attacks on police/SFs and civilian atrocities.

''One terrorist was killed, and his body was retrieved from the site of encounter. He has been identified as Muneeb Ahmad Sheikh, son of Shah Mohd Sheikh. He was a resident of Tak Mohalla Shopian and affiliated with proscribed terror outfit LeT, '' said Jammu and Kashmir Police.

Meanwhile, police along with 55RR and 182/183Bn CRPF busted a terror module of proscribed terror outfit JeM and arrested three terror associates in South Kashmir's Pulwama district.   

''They have been identified as Owais Altaf, son of Jandwal resident Altaf Hussain Ganai; Aqib Manzoor, son of Gudoora resident Manzoor Ahmad Mir and Waseem Ahmad Pandit, son of Karimabad Pulwama resident Gh Mohammad Pandit,'' said Jammu and Kashmir Police.   

The police said that preliminary investigation revealed that the arrested trio were involved in providing logistics and transportation to terrorists in the district.   

Incriminating materials, arms and ammunition including one AK rifle, three magazines, 69 AK rounds and a grenade were recovered on their disclosure.
