Telangana election chief calls for report over Jwala Gutta's name missing in voter list

Telangana's Chief Electoral Officer, Rajat Kumar, on Friday stated that a final report has been called for from the Electoral Registration Officer over the incident of Shuttler Jwala Gutta's name being missing from the state voter list.
Indian badminton star Jwala Gutta on Friday expressed sadness on not being able to cast her vote in Telangana assembly polls as her name was missing from the voter list.

"I had checked (name) and then only went today (to vote) and my name was missing. My point is, my father and sister's names have been missing since the time we checked online," the badminton star said in a video message on Twitter on Friday.

She sought to know why her name was deleted as she has been residing in the same residence for the past 12 years.
If the names are deleted, the concerned persons should definitely be informed, she said.
Gutta's mother, however, was able to vote.
Gutta has brought laurels to the country in the sport of badminton, she has won several medals, including in the Commonwealth Games.
