Tehelka rape case: Goa court begins Tarun Tejpal trial
A Goa court is hearing sexual assault case against Tehelka editor-in-chief Tarun Tajpal.
Earlier the hearing was scheduled to take place between February 26 to March 1 but later the date was postponed to March 15 due to Tejpal changing his lawyer.
Last year in December Supreme Court directed Bombay High Court to conduct a trial and begin the examination of the witnesses.
In November 2013 Tejpal is accused of raping his then colleague during the magazine event in Goa.
After which he was booked under IPC sections 376, 376(2) (F) and 376(2) (k).
Tarun Tejpal has also been charged with sexual harassment and outraging the modesty of a woman in September 2016.
He was arrested on 30 November 2013 and is currently on bail granted by Supreme Court since 1 July 2014.
