Police are investigating two hoax calls to police threatening to bomb the residences of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister  Edappadi K Palaniswami and actor Rajinikanth's house.

News agency ANI quoting sources from the Tamil Nadu police stated that the police received 2 calls from the same number. The person first called at 1:50 pm and threatened to plant a bomb at the residence of CM Palaniswami. A bomb squad was sent the residence of the CM but no bomb was found. The security at the residence of the CM has been beefed up following the threat.

Similarly, police received a call from the same number at 6:27 pm and the caller again threatened to plant a bomb at Rajinikanth's house.

After tracing the number, police found out that the call was made from Cuddalore district.
