The announcement comes following a prolonged delay in announcing the CM candidate after the Congress dethroned BJP leader Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
With 114 Congress candidates elected, the party fell two short of simple majority. However, after roping in BSP (2) and SP (1) and four independent candidates, the party crossed the half-way mark required to form the government.
