According to reports, the Supreme Court today rejected a petition that sought an investigation into actor Sridevi's death. The apex court maintained that it cannot interfere with the probe.

The petition was filed by filmmaker Sunil Singh who had moved the Supreme Court after the Delhi High Court quashed his plea.

Sridevi had gone to Dubai to attend a family wedding. She was found dead in the bathtub of her luxury suite on February 24. The forensic report stated "accidental drowning" as the cause of her death.

Sridevi, 54, last appeared in Ravi Udyawar's Mom (2017) for which she was awarded the National Film Award posthumously. Her last on-screen appearance will be in a cameo in Anand L Rai's upcoming Zero (2018).
