'Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety' becomes the second highest grossing film of 2018; races ahead of 'Padman'

Luv Ranjan's film, Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety - a story on bromance-  has got the approval of the audience and has become the second highest grosser of 2018. The film has earned Rs 86.76 crores in its third week, surpassing the collections of Akshay Kumar starrer Padman which has earned Rs 81 crores overall. 

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the film's collection on Twitter recently. "SonuKeTituKiSweety is now the SECOND HIGHEST GROSSER of 2018, after #Padmaavat... Crosses #PadMan [approx ₹ 81 cr]… [Week 3] Fri 2.27 cr, Sat 4.12 cr. Total: ₹ 82.10 cr. India biz... SUPER-HIT... #SKTKS(sic)” he wrote.

The film opened to theatres with mix reviews but was lapped up by the audience primarily because of the humour in the film. 

So far, the highest grosser of 2018 remains Padmaavat with Rs 286.24 crore earning in the domestic market itself. 

Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, starring Sunny Singh, Nushrat Bharucha and Kartik Aaryan, was also the third highest weekend opener for the year 2018.
