Ten days the results of the October 21 Assembly elections were announced, there appeared to be no headway in government formation in Maharashtra, with allies BJP and Shiv Sena still at loggerheads over the quantum of power-sharing.

While BJP is willing to offer the deputy chief minister post to Sena, the latter insisting on 50-50 formula and wants rotational CM post.

Earlier on Friday, Raut said People of Maharashtra wants chief minister from Shiv Sena.

The comment came after Raut called on Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar at his residence in South Mumbai, triggering speculation about the possible formation of an alternative government in the state.

''If Shiv Sena decides, it'll get the required numbers to form a stable government in the state. People have given the mandate to form a government based on 50-50 formula that was reached in front of people of Maharashtra. They want chief minister from Shiv Sena,'' the Sena leader had said.
