Shashi Tharoor wasn't detained for possession of pistol: CISF Sources
Giving a clarification on the media reports that stated that Congress leader Shashi Tharoor was detained on airport for carrying a pistol, CISF sources have said that the Tharoor was misinterpreted.
The sources said that Shashi Tharoor was not detained for possession of pistol at Jaipur airport. He was waiting for his sister. Someone had asked him what he was waiting for, he said "my sister", misheard as "pistol".

Shashi Tharoor, the Congress leader who remains in media highlights every other day, was again in the news for carrying a pistol in a flight.
Reports said that he carried a pistol along with him while travelling on a plane on Thursday afternoon.
Tharoor boarded the Jet Airways flight to fly from Chandigarh to Jaipur to attend the Zee Jaipur Literature Festival.
After reaching Jaipur he was made to wait for 35 minutes in the arrival area.
The airline staff thoroughly investigated the pistol that Tharoor was carrying before handing it over to him. The pistol was brought by escorts and was given to him after long paperwork, report stated.
Ideally, the pistols are given to the airline authorities before boarding the plane and are returned to them after they reach their destination.
