Serial rapist, killer 'Psycho Shankar' found dead inside jail

Serial rapist and murderer Jaishankar, notoriously known as 'Psycho Shankar' was found dead, lying in a pool of blood, at Parappana Agrahara Central Prison in Karnataka's Bengaluru on the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday.  

The cops suspect it to be a case of suicide. 

As per reports, Jaishankar allegedly slit his throat using a blade that he got during a haircut within the jail premises.

The criminal was kept in a separate cell and did not mingle with any other convict. 

“It was around 2-2.30 am when beat officers found him lying, with his throat slit. We suspect that he used a shaving blade. We suspect it is a case of suicide as he was alone in his cell, and no one is allowed to go near where he was incarcerated. We immediately shifted him to the Jail Hospital, but his condition only began deteriorating. We rushed him to Victoria Hospital, but he died in the ambulance itself,” as per media reports. 

Jaishankar had become famous after escaping from the Parappana Agrahara central prisons by jumping its 30 feet compound wall.

The police have registered a case of unnatural death under suspicious circumstances and are probing into his death.

The police are also looking for his recent visitor records to ascertain what could have led him to take the extreme step.
 
Considered a psychopath, he was imprisoned following his conviction in a case relating to trespass, rape and murder.
