J&K: Two terrorists gunned down in Shopian encounter; operation over

One terrorist has been killed in an exchange of fire between security forces and terrorists in Molu-Chitragam area of Shopian district.

Two terrorists were gunned down on Monday during an exchange of fire with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir's Shopian district.

The encounter broke out in Molu-Chitragam area which has now been cordoned off.

According to the source, the duo was killed in retaliation after they fired at the army. 

Reports suggest that terrorists opened fire on the Quick Reaction Team of Indian Army's 44 Rashtriya Rifles while they were passing through the area. The operation is now over.

Bodies have been recovered from the area. However, the identification of terrorists is yet to ascertain.

Last week on Friday, three terrorists were killed in Shopian in Dragad Sugan area.
