Security forces in the Kashmir valley put on alert ahead of Ramadan

Security forces in the Kashmir valley have been put on alert for the May 17th of the Islamic month of Ramadan after inputs that militants might try to carry out attacks on them.

Sources have confirmed to WION that an alert has been issued by intelligence agencies after inputs and keeping in view the day. Generally, militants attempt to show their presence on the day by hurling grenades at forces deployed on the ground. 

The Battle of Badr was a big defining event in Muslim history and a major military victory of Prophet Muhammad in the 7th century. 

In the last four months, security forces have launched 27 anti-militancy operations in which 64 terrorists have been killed this year which includes Qari Yasir of Jaish-e-Muhammad, Burhan Koka of Ansar Ghazwatul Hind and Riyaz Naikoo of Hizb.
