The Indian Meteorological Department has predicted more rain in Chennai in the upcoming days.

The low pressure created over the Bay of Bengal will continue to downpour moderate and heavy rain in the city.

A low pressure has developed over Southwest Bay of Bengal between the Sri Lankan and the Tamil Nadu coast and a cyclonic circulation rising up to 3.1 km above mean sea level resulting in the continuous downpour.

The city has been facing rains for a week now.

The schools in Chennai, Kancheepuram, and Tiruvallur districts have been shut down since Tuesday and will continue to remain closed.

Several university exams have also been postponed.

Chief minister K Palaniswami and many other state ministers have been visiting waterlogged parts of the city.
