Samajwadi party's 'cycle yatra' from UP to Delhi to begin today

The Samajwadi Party will begin its 'cycle yatra' from Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh on Monday to throw light on its policies and the projects adopted by the previous government. 

The 'samaajik nyay evam prajatantra bachao-desh bachao' yatra will pass through various parts of the state before concluding at Jantar Mantar in Delhi on September 23, SP chief spokesperson Rajendra Chaudhary said in a statement.

He said young workers of the party will take part in the cycle yatra.

Party leader, Akhilesh Yadav will also kickstart his campaign for 2019 Lok Sabha polls from September 16 by undertaking a 'cycle yatra' from September 16.

Yadav will begin his cycle yatra from Thathia Mandi in Kannauj, from where he going to contest the Lok Sabha polls again. He will ride a bicycle for 50 kms on his dream project Lucknow-Agra Expressway.

His yatra will be flagged off by the family of a child who was born in a bank queue during demonetisation. Yadav had named him as Khajanchi (treasurer).

The yatra will carry a message of 'Rights and Respect to All'. 

The party hopes to revive its political fortunes in the upcoming elections through cycle yatras which had in 2012 proved to be a blessing for it as it secured a clear majority in the assembly for the first time ever.
