Taha Siddiqui, Islamabad-based WION’s Pakistan bureau chief has said that he has been receiving threats from Pakistan military.

He added that his friends and family had received message warning saying that he should stop criticising Pakistan military.

Around 10-12 men tried abducting Siddiqui when he was on his way to Islamabad airport on January 10.

His cab was overtaken and blocked by another vehicle.

The men came out of the car armed with Kalashnikov guns and hit Taha. They threatened to kill him and threw him back into the cab.

Taha, however, managed to get out of the car from the other side of the cab.

Siddiqui had been facing harassment in Pakistan for a long time.
