Ready to deal if there is spike in cases of novel coronavirus in the capital: Delhi CM

Delhi government is ready to deal with situation if there is spike in cases of novel coronavirus, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind kejriwal said on Monday.

The government and private hospitals in Delhi have 4,500 beds for COVID-19 patients and out of these, 2,000 are occupied, he further said and added, 3,314 COVID-19 patients are getting treatment at their house, 2,000 admitted at hospitals.

13,418 COVID-19 cases have been reported so far in the capital, out of these 6,540 have recovered. 

COVID-19 cases have increased in Delhi due to relaxations in lockdown. But there is nothing to worry about unless the mortality rate or the number of serious cases rises rapidly, the Delhi CM said.

 If people contract the virus & recover, then there is nothing to worry about, he added. 

''The situation is under control in Delhi though I admit that COVID-19 cases are increasing slowly. Most of the cases have mild symptoms or are asymptomatic and being treated at home,'' he noted.
