Rajya Sabha polls: Setback to Mayawati, BSP MLA votes for BJP

An MLA from Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), Anil Singh went against his party to vote for the BJP in the Rajya Sabha polls in Uttar Pradesh on Friday.
A day before the election, Singh met with the state chief minister Yogi Adityanath.
Singh said that he voted to the BJP on " antaratma ki awaaz". He said, "My inside asked me to vote for the BJP".

Anil Singh is the BSP MLA from Purwa in Unnao, UP.
Reports also said that another MLA, Nitin Agarwal, from the Samajwadi Party (SP) legislator from Hardoi, also voted for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidates.
His father Naresh Agarwal had already joined the BJP earlier this month.
