The Deepika Padukone starrer was given a U/A certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification and is slated to hit theatres on January 25.

After months of uncertainty and violent protests by Rajput Karni Sena, the film's name was changed to 'Padmavat' from ‘Padmavati’.

The group even objected to Deepika's dance in the song 'Ghoomar', saying the Rajput queens never danced in front of anyone.

Earlier, the film was scheduled for a December 1, 2017 release but was postponed after objections around the film took a political turn

With the new release date, Bhansali's film will clash with two other major Bollywood releases that weekend- Akshay Kumar's Padman and Manoj Bajpayee's Aiyaary.
