Shah, who was campaigning in Mahuva, Gujarat, said the Congress vice-president had asked for proof after the surgical strike carried out by the army in Pakistan.
"He (Rahul Gandhi) was asking, who saw the surgical strikes taking place?" said Shah.
"Rahul bhai, please respect the honour and valour of our jawans guarding the borders," he added.

This was not the first attack on Gandhi on Sunday.
Earlier in the day, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh had reacted to Rahul's "development has gone mad" comment by saying "unke dimaag par taras aata hai".
"Development can slow down, it can speed up, it can stop, but does it ever go mad?" Singh had said. Adding, "And what do you call someone who says that?"
Gandhi had himself on Sunday accused the BJP government of not providing the women of poll-bound Gujarat with security, education, or nutrition.
Gujarat goes to the polls on December 9 and 14.
