Pune reports 99 coronavirus cases in 24 hours; cases rise to 2,202

Pune in Maharashtra reported ninety-nine new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the total number of cases in the district stand to 2,202. 

The city's health officials said that 553 patients have been cured and discharged. 

Punjab on Tuesday reported 219 new coronavirus cases taking the total number of cases in the state to 1,451 with 1,293 active cases.

Twenty-five patients have lost their lives due to the virus in Punjab.

Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that three new coronavirus cases were reported in the state with all of them from Wayanad district. 
 
In Karnataka, 22 more coronavirus cases were reported with the total number of positive cases in the state rising to 673, which included 331 discharges. Twenty-nine people have died due to the virus in the state, according to health officials.

Karnataka chief minister BS Yediyurappa said: "Coronavirus situation in the state is under control as compared to other states."

"Due to this, travel of migrant workers was prohibited. Now, trade, construction and industrial activities need to restart, except in the red zones," the chief minister added.
