Tensions between India and Pakistan have been running high ever since last Thursday's Pulwama attack in which over 40 CRPF men died. A local youth, Adil Ahmad Dar, had rammed a car filled with explosives into a bus carrying the Central Reserve Police Force men.

The attack was claimed by the terror group Jaish-e-Mohammed, which is led by Masood Azhar who is based out of Pakistan.

Since the attack, India has raised customs duties on Pakistani goods by 200 per cent.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also said that he has given the armed forces a free hand to respond to the perpetrators of the attack.

Indian security forces killed two terrorists on Monday in Pulwama, about 10 kilometres from the site of the attack. That encounter is still ongoing but it is thought the two terrorists killed in the attack are Kamran Hilal, the mastermind of the Pulwama attack, and Abdul Rashid Gazi, the maker of the bomb used in the Pulwama attack.
