Submitting the memorandum, the Sikh community has requested PM Modi to address the issues of - 1984 Sikh genocide, dedicating Delhi airport to Guru Nanak Dev International Airport, Article 25 of Indian Constitution and Anand Marriage Act, Visa and Passport renewal of asylees.
''We submitted a memorandum and thanked Modi ji for what he has done for Sikh community. We thanked him for the Kartarpur corridor. President Trump is coming here tomorrow (at Howdy Modi), shows how important a leader PM Modi is,'' Avinder Chawla, sitting Commissioner, Arvin, California said.
The members of the Bohra community also met and interacted with the prime minister. They also felicitated PM Modi.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived at the George Bush Intercontinental Airport at Houston, Texas on Saturday on a week-long visit to the United States.
PM Modi is scheduled to address 50,000 Indian diaspora today in Houston in an event called ''Howdy Modi''.
The event which will be attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump will see the giant NRG stadium filled to the capacity.
