Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in New York on Monday ahead of United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).

PM Modi is scheduled to take part in the UNSG's Summit on Climate Change and Leaders' Dialogue on 'Strategic Responses to Terrorist and Violent Extremist Narratives' today.

The summit will be followed by a high-level meeting on Universal Health Coverage. This will be followed by Prime Minister's meetings with the Amir of Qatar, President of Niger, Prime Minister of Italy and the Director of UNICEF.

PM Modi will also meet the Presidents of Namibia and Maldives.

The prime minister will address the UNGA on September 27.

The prime minister on Sunday addressed the Indian diaspora in Houston's "Howdy, Modi" event in the presence of US President Donald Trump.

Often hailed as a people's leader, PM Modi spoke about various issues including sanitation, data affordability, ease of business and highlighted the progress made during his tenure.

The Prime Minister said India was striving to become a 5 trillion dollar economy and the government was laying thrust on boosting infrastructure, investment and exports.
