The sixteen-year-old accused in the murder of murdering Pradyuman Thakur, Class 2nd student of Gurugram's Ryan International School, will be tried as an adult after the Juvenile Justice Board, Gurugram transferred the case to the district and sessions court. 

The hearing in the case will begin from December 22.

"During subsequent proceedings the convict will be considered as an adult," Sushil Tekriwal, lawyer of Pradyuman's family, told ANI.

Pradyuman's father thanked the judiciary for ensuring justice for his child.

"I thank the judiciary for the decision. We always knew that the journey is long but we will go till the end to get justice for my child and all other children who might be vulnerable," Pradyuman's father Varun Thakur said.

On December 15, the Gurugram court rejected the bail plea of the accused.

The CBI alleges that the Class 11th student murdered Pradyuman because he allegedly wanted to postpone a parent-teacher meeting and exams. He was arrested by the CBI after they did not find any evidence against the bus conductor Ashok Kumar, who was the initially arrested by the Gurgaon Police as the sole accused in the murder.

Pradyuman, a class 2 student, was found lying in a pool with his throat slit inside the school's washroom on September 8.

The killing resulted in public outrage with people protesting against the school authorities and the owners for the negligence.
