The murder was due to me naming the chowk after Modi ji. There is absolutely no other reason. Police is misleading and even pressurizing my injured brother. I am now contemplating leaving this place: Tej Narayan Yadav, son of victim #Darbhanga #Bihar pic.twitter.com/S98bcWn0Lp

A 70-year-old man, Ramchandra Yadav, was thrashed and beheaded by a mob in Darbhanga district of Bihar on Friday.
Initially, the reason for beheading the man was reported to have happened due to the renaming of the town square as "Narendra Modi Chowk".
However, on Saturday news agency quoted Satya Veer Singh, SSP of Darbhanga saying that "it was due to an old land dispute and has no connection with the naming of chowk."
"They named their private land as Narendra Modi Chowk. Batons were used to injure the deceased's son," Veer Singh added.
The SSP further clarified that there is no ongoing tension in the village.
Ramchandra Yadav was attacked by a mob of 40-50 people who allegedly thrashed Yadav with hockey sticks and swords.
Media has quoted Yadav's son as saying that his father went to explain the situation but he was beheaded with a sword and when his elder brother intervened he was also assaulted.
The elder brother is admitted to a local hospital for his treatment.
