PM Modi wrote congratulatory letter to Imran, no new proposal for dialogue: Government sources
Pakistan’s newly-appointed Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Monday claimed that prime minister Narendra Modi had written a letter to Pakistan to propose talks.
However, Indian government sources denied Pakistan minister's claims, saying that no such proposals were made and Modi wrote a letter to Imran Khan to "congratulate" him.
"India and Pakistan have to move forward keeping realities before them," Qureshi was quoted as saying in a report in Geo News.
"There is a need for continued and uninterrupted dialogue with India. We are neighbours. We have long-standing issues, both of us know these problems. But we have no other option but to engage in dialogue," Qureshi added.
Qureshi was speaking at the Pakistan Foreign Office after taking oath as the cabinet minister.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf(PTI) tweeted on Monday claiming that the Indian foreign minister had expressed the will to commence dialogue with Pakistan.

In his hour-long maiden address to the nation a day after his swearing in as the country's 22nd prime minister, Imran Khan had said that the country will enter into talks with all neighbours to normalise ties.
