Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Kartarpur checkpost, which connects Punjab to Kartarpur Sahib in Pakistan's Narowal district, shortly.
A short while back, Modi paid obeisance at the Ber Sahib gurudwara in Sultanpur Lodhi in Punjab's Kathurthala district.
Modi was received by Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh at the Amritsar airport.
Meanwhile, the first batch of Indian pilgrims have already arrived in Kartarpur in Pakistan.

The 4.5-kilometre-long corridor is being opened on the 550th birth anniversary of Sikhism's founder Guru Nanak Dev.

Ahead of the inauguration ceremony, Modi will have lunch with the pilgrims following which he will address a public rally.
The first batch comprising 500 pilgrims will include several dignitaries including former Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Amarinder Singh and former Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal.
Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu, who was invited by Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan, will also attend the inauguration ceremony.
Imran Khan will be holding a separate ceremony today in Kartarpur.
Meanwhile, security has been tightened across Punjab ahead of Kartarpur inauguration.
