PM Modi to inaugurate Assam's maiden Global Investors' summit tomorrow

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Advantage Assam – Global Investors’ Summit in Guwahati on Saturday. 

Several Union Ministers including Nitin Gadkari, Suresh Prabhu, Smriti Irani and Kiren Rijiju, are expected to take part in the proceedings.

The two-day summit will witness the presence of over 2000 domestic and international industry leaders and representatives where the state will go all out to catapult itself as India's expressway to ASEAN.

Foreign delegations from Bhutan, Bangladesh, Cambodia and Myanmar will also take part in the event. 

Advantage Assam will be the largest ever investment promotion and facilitation initiative by the Government of Assam. Besides, the Summit will showcase the opportunities offered by the state in terms of export-oriented manufacturing and services.

On its part, the government is offering 160 square kilometre industrial corridor to facilitate easy land purchases by business persons to establish firms without land conversion issues, fresh land allotments to create brand new industrial estates, labour skilling and promoting technical and industry oriented courses in colleges.

It is also assuring to strengthen the business ecosystem fundamentals like power distribution, road infrastructure, common facilities at industrial estates etc.
