Panchkula violence case: Honeypreet Insan produced before court, further hearing on March 28

Honeypreet Insan was produced before a session court in Haryana's Panchkula district earlier today in connection with the Panchkula violence case. The court will hear the case on March 28. 

Honeypreet was accused of inciting violence in Panchkula, Haryana following the arrest of Dera Saccha Sauda Chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim on August 25 2017. 

Series of violent protests triggered in Haryana's Panchkula after self-proclaimed godman Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh was convicted of rape by a special Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court. 

Incidents of violence in Panchkula on August 25, 2017, killed nearly 36 people, injuring close to 250. Honeypreet has also been identified as one of the masterminds behind the violence.
