Pakistan reading a different verdict on Kulbhushan Jadhav, it does not have patience to read: MEA

As Pak PM Imran tired to give a "postive spin" to the International Court of Justice(ICJ) verdict on Kulbushan Jadhav, India slammed Pakistan's stance asserting that Pakistan has been reading from a different verdict.

The ICJ had allowed India consular access to Jadhav and asked it to review the executing order while informing that it was acting in contravention of the Vienna Convention.

"ICJ verdict final and binding," the ministry of external affairs said, adding,"Pak does not have patience to read."

The ministry said PM Modi had tweeted and welcomed the verdict and it had a statement in both Houses of Parliament which was a complete vindication and validation of India's stand, it said.

All efforts are being made to get Jadhav back," the MEA said. "We will put all efforts together to extradite Jadhav back to India," it addded. "Pakistan is in breach of obligations," MEA said.

All points say verdict is in favour of India, the MEA said. "ICJ has unanimously declared it has jurisdiction".

"Pakistan has to just act now." 

Pakistan PM Imran Khan in a tweet however tried to put a spin on the verdict saying that he "appreciated" ICJ's decision not to "acquit, release & return Commander Kulbhushan Jadhav to India."

"He is guilty of crimes against the people of Pakistan. Pakistan shall proceed further as per law," Pak PM Imran said.

Just after the verdict was annouced Anwar Mansoor Khan, Pakistan Attorney General was quick to tell reporters that it was "a clear, clear win for Pakistan".

After the judgement, India's advocate at the ICJ Harish Salve said that there has to be fair adjudication of consular access.

"We made Pakistan adhere to the Vienna Convention," he declared.

The world court had found that Pakistan had "deprived India of the right to communicate with and have access to Kulbhushan Sudhir Jadhav, to visit him in detention and to arrange for his legal representation."

The ICJ added that Pakistan must provide "by the means of its own choosing, effective review and reconsideration of the conviction and sentence of Kulbhushan Sudhir Jadhav".
