With the movie Padmaavat releasing on January 25, Section 144 -- prohibiting the assembly of more than 4 people -- has been imposed in Gurgaon.

The prohibitory orders will stay in place till Sunday.

There have been a number of protest, across the country, against the movie.

Four states, including Haryana, had banned the film but the bans were revoked by the Supreme Court.

A number of fringe groups, led by the Rajput Karni Sena, however has continued to call for "people's bans" on the movie.

"Section 144 of the CrPC has been imposed in view of release of the 'Padmaavat' in various cinema halls and multiplexes on January 25 as there is likelihood of law and order disturbance," PTI reported Gurgaon Deputy Commissioner Vinay Pratap Singh as saying.
