Opinion: How to spice up Delhi's spring? Truck food, band music, quirky jewellery

The summers are around the corner. This must probably be one of the hottest first weeks of March in a while. But then we cannot do much about nature, can we? And we have leaders – world leaders—who do not believe in carbon emission! Either way, there is some respite for the people of New Delhi. The third edition of the Horn OK Please Food Truck festival is back and it promises to be bigger than the previous two editions.

A little fact check. Close to 50 handpicked food trucks from across the capital to cater to your taste buds, a little over 100 food stalls, including 100 and above kebab outlets to answer your belly needs!

Don’t be disappointed. There is a dessert zone for your sweet tooth cravings! The Dessert Zone includes stalls from the likes of Oh! So Stoned, Baker Confidential and High on Sugar! Then there is this shop Crème Bone that will dish out Black ice cream! No racism here!

No festival is complete with a zone dedicated to waffles! As many as 200 different shades of waffles will be available. They had these really yummy rum-based waffles the last time around, just hope they are there this time too.

And if all this was not enough there will be a whopping 100+ stalls, mixing things up in a jar and serving chilled and hot shakes! A brownie shake? A candy bar share? Monster shakes? No problem. You ask for it and the Shakes Province will have it served for you!

Be warned. There will also be a small section dedicated to shopping! Things just got a little more interesting for the X chromosome! Offerings from CaseFactory, Print Octopus, personalised perfumes from Desi Western Handmade Perfumes and of course junk jewellery too! So guys, watch out before your girl runs out wild in the Quirk Bazaar!

A food festival is empty without live bands! The organisers have played it smart by asking Chizai – my favourite band – to perform on Friday instead of the weekend to attract crowds on Friday night! But there are other bands too with the likes of Nisarg, Qareeb, Prahaar, Dhunn, Maya Bazaar, Zephyr, Sejal Morris and a few more to keep the crowd in their groove over the three days!

Look no further. Don’t’ pack your bags yet. Just fill your wallets with truckloads of money and come back with a belly full of food, mind filled with happiness and a heart full of memories!
