Cyclone Ockhi?may now hit Gujarat coast

After creating havoc in Tamil Nadu and Kerala, Cyclone Ockhi may now hit Gujarat.

Warnings have been issued to fishermen in Saurashtra, Gujarat.

The Gir Somnath district collector has said the cyclone may hit the Saurashtra coast in the next 48 hours.

Meanwhile, Commodore G Prakash, commanding officer of the INC Venduruthy, said the navy has rescued 25 people from the Lakshadweep Islands and another 13 from off the Kerala coast. 

Prakash said the Lakshadweep Islands had suffered extensive damane.

That roofs had been blown off homes, trees had fallen on homes, and boats had capsized. 

He added that the navy is conducting a massive search in the area.
