'We are proud of India and its scientists today,' the Bhutanese PM tweeted out.

Prime Minister of Bhutan Lotay Tshering on Saturday tweeted out in support of India, lauding ISRO's courageous attempt to explore the far side of the Moon

"We are proud of India and its scientists today," his tweet read.

"Chandrayaan-2 saw some challenges last minute but the courage and hard work you have shown are historical. Knowing Prime Minister @narendramodi, I have no doubt he and his ISRO team will make it happen one day," Tshering tweeted.

PM Modi addressed ISRO scientists on Saturday morning on India's Chandrayaan-2 mission.

"There will be a new dawn and a brighter tomorrow very soon. There is no failure in science, only experiment and efforts," PM Modi said after the Vikram Lander lost contact with the ISRO ground station even as it descended as planned.

"I could feel what you were going through a few hours back, your eyes were conveying a lot. You live for India's honour, I salute you," he told the scientists.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday hugged an emotional, teary-eyed ISRO chief K Sivan as he made his way out of the ISRO headquarters in Bengaluru.

Earlier, Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) said in a tweet, "normal performance was observed up to an altitude of 2.1 km. Subsequently, communication from Lander to the ground stations was lost. Data is being analyzed."
