No defence acquisition under Modi has raked up mud, Rafale inclusive, said Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Wednesday.
''We're also very clear that if they quickly want to purchase some ammunition again, post-Pulwama, they can go ahead. This happens at least in NDA government, as and when the armed forces feel it wants to have little margin to acquire quickly the ammunition they need to acquire,'' she said in an interview.
On emergency powers given to Armed Forces to buy equipment of Rs 300 Crore, the defence minister said that government had given emergency powers to armed forces post-Uri incident as well.
''We had given this delegation of powers for Armed forces to choose what they want to buy in terms of ammunition,'' the BJP leader said and added, Defence Acquisition Council which takes care of capital procurement, meets every fortnight.
On Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi claim that India will strike between 16-20 April, the defence minister said ''I don't know where he got this date, so good luck to him. God knows whatever it is but it sounded very fanciful for me and amusing.''
Reacting to Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan' statement that India and Pakistan have a better chance of settling Kashmir issue only if Modi's BJP wins'', she said ''I wonder if this is also part of the scheme of things which have been put forth by the Congress' side.''
