At least seven Maoists and two policemen have been killed in an encounter in south Chhattisgarh's Sukma near Saklar village.
Sukma SP Abhishek Meena said "seven to eight Naxals have been neutralised" and that "two District Reserve Guards" have died in action.
Meena added that the process to evacuate the bodies of the two jawans who were killed had begun.

Chhattisgarh recently went to the polls over two phases on November 12 and 20.
There had been a spate of attacks on security forces before the elections, with the Naxals telling locals to boycott the polls.
The election results will be out on December 7.
