A Delhi court will on April 3 hear a criminal complaint and civil defamation case filed against the makers of the Bollywood movie Newton.

The complaint says Newton portrays the Central Reserve Police Force in poor light.

Newton was India's official entry to the Oscars. And Rajkummar Rao won the Asia Pacific Screen Award -- given out by the Brisbane city council -- for his performance in the film.

The complaint was filed In February this year by a CRPF sub-inspector. The complaint reportedly says the movie maligns the image, character and reputation of the force.

Newton was directed by Amit Masurkar and written by Mayank Tewari. Most film critics were raving in their praise for the film.
