Karnataka is voting today for electing its 15th Legislative Assembly after a fortnight-long bitter campaign by the Congress, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Janata Dal-Secular (JD-S). The vote count will take place on May  15. 

Iran said on Friday that it is ready to restart its nuclear program on an "industrial scale" following Trump's decision to pull out of the deal. Iran foreign minister Javed Zarif said that he would begin a round of diplomatic talks with the European allies in order to save the deal and at the same time the country would start preparing to restart its program of nuclear enrichment, reports said. 

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Friday claimed that a conspiracy was on to physically eliminate her and said a political party has even hired contract killers for the purpose.

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Saturday said that North Korea can look forward to "a future brimming with peace and prosperity" if it agrees to quickly give up its nuclear weapons. 

A 20-year-old student allegedly died of heart attack on Friday in Satna, Madhya Pradesh after he was stopped from giving his exam over failing to pay the fees. The student, identified as Mohanlal, was immediately rushed to a hospital nearby where he was pronounced dead. Soon after, the boy's parents and neighbours staged protests and blocked roads demanding action against the college.
