Nepal will be sensitive to India's concerns, will not allow territory to be used against India: PM Oli

Nepal Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has assured that the country's territory will not be allowed to be used against India. He also added that Nepal will be sensitive to India's concerns.

The assurance has come amid Prime Minister Modi's two-day visit to Nepal.

Prime minister KP Sharma Oli has also decided to hold the BIMSTEC (Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation) summit this year and also expressed commitments towards BBIN (Bangladesh-Bhutan-India-Nepal) initiative.

While addressing a press conference the Ministry of External Affairs Vijay Gokhale called the meeting between the PM Modi and KP Sharma Oli "very successful". 

A day before after holding talks with his Nepal counterpart PM Modi had said that he will not allow the misuse of the open borders between the two nations.

He also said that the countries had agreed to strengthen the joint efforts on defence and security to control cross-border crimes.

PM Modi's official visit to Nepal focuses on developing faith diplomacy. The Prime Minister on Saturday prayed at Nepal's iconic Muktinath temple, becoming the first world leader to offer prayers there. He also prayed at the Pashupatinath, the oldest Shiva temple in Nepal. PM Modi is the first foreign guest to pay homage at the main sanctum of Muktinath temple.
