Navy thwarts pirate attempt on Indian ship in Gulf of Aden

The Indian Navy has thwarted a pirate attempt on an Indian ship in the Gulf of Aden. 

"INS Trishul thwarted piracy attempt on Indian ship MV Jag Amar at 1230 hrs in the Gulf of Aden," the Indian Navy said.

News reports said the Jag Amar was an 85,000-tonne bulk carrier. 

The ministry of defence released a series of pictures of the operation. 

The pictures show a Navy team deboarding the INS Trishul, speeding towards it, and cutting off any escape route.
