'My government will run for five years in full force', says Madhya Pradesh chief minister Kamal Nath

Reacting to BJP leader Shivraj Singh Chauhan's remarks that BJP should not be held responsible if Congress government in Madhya Pradesh faced the same fate as Karnataka government, chief minister Kamal Nath on Wednesday asserted that none of his MLAs were for sale.

"None of the MLAs sitting here are for sale. Kamal Nath's government will run for five years in full force." "If you wish, you can move no-confidence motion," Nath told the BJP MLAs in the state Assembly.

On Tuesday, Shivraj Singh Chauhan said: "There is an internal conflict in Congress, and support of BSP-SP, if something happens to that then we can't do anything."

"We will not cause the fall of government here (Madhya Pradesh). Congress leaders themselves have been responsible for the fall of their governments," the former chief minister Singh said. 

In Madhya Pradesh, the Congress-led coalition currently has 121 seats out of a total 230 with support from Bahujan Samaj Party, Samajwadi Party and four independent candidates. 

Chauhan's remarks came after HD Kumaraswamy-led Congress-JD(S) government lost the trust vote in Karnataka. The Congress-JD(S) government was defeated on the floor of the Karnataka Assembly on Tuesday night. The confidence motion moved by outgoing chief minister Kumaraswamy got 99 votes as against 105 of the opposition.
