Mumbai's Dharavi slum area on Monday reported 57 new coronavirus cases with the total number of cases rising to 916 cases.
29 people have died due to the virus in the slum area.
Meanwhile, Maharashtra chief minister Uddhav Thackeray during his video conference with PM Modi said that, "Cases are expected to peak in May, it may peak in June or July also."
"I've read Wuhan is witnessing a second wave of cases, even the WHO has warned about this. So, I suggest that any action on lockdown must be taken cautiously," the Maharashtra chief minister added.
Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel during the video conference with India's Prime Minister PM Modi said: "State governments should get the right to make decisions on handling of economic activities within their states. They should also get the responsibility to declare Red, Green and Orange Zones."
Meanwhile, the number of coronavirus cases in Madhya Pradesh reached 3,785 with 171 new cases reported in the last 24 hours. The state health department said 1,747 patients have recovered while 221 have died to the infection.
In Tamil Nadu, 798 more coronavirus cases and six deaths reported in the last 24 hours. The state has reported 8,002 which includes 5,895 active cases. Fifty-three people have died due the virus.
