Mumbai fire case: Mojo Bistro's absconding co-owner Yug Tuli arrested

In yet another arrest in Mumbai's Kamala Mills fire case, Yug Tuli, the co-owner of Mojo Bistro restaurant and accused in the case was today arrested by the Mumbai Police.

The Mumbai Police was informed that Tuli had come to Mumbai to meet someone which is when he was caught.

The Mumbai sessions court had last week rejected the anticipatory bail plea of the absconding Mojo Bistro's co-owner who was traced by the police in Hyderabad and earlier managed to give the slip to the police thrice. No interim protection had been given to him from arrest till then.

The other co-owner of Mojo Bistro, Yug Pathak, the son of former Pune police commissioner KK Pathak, was arrested on January 6.

Last week, the Mumbai police arrested all the three owners of "1 Above" pub - Kripesh Sanghavi, Jigar Sanghavi and Abhijeet Mankar - who are accused in the case. The accused had been on the run and a case of culpable homicide not amounting to murder had been registered against them.

The Bhoiwada magistrate's court yesterday granted bail to hotelier Vishal Karia, who was arrested earlier this month for harbouring an offender, Abhijeet Mankar, at his residence.

The managers of "1 Above" were arrested by the police last month.

The fire brigade investigation report had revealed that the fire originated from the charcoal embers used for hookah smoking in Mojo Bistro and then spread to the "1 Above" pub on the floor above. The fire department report is in contrast to earlier reports that indicated that the fire started at "1 Above".

The police had earlier issued a lookout notice against the owners of "1 Above".

The deadly fire at Kamala Mills complex on December 28 claimed 14 lives and left 21 injured.
