Modi, Rahul, Amit Shah visit AIIMS to enquire about Vajpayee's health

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP president Amit Shah, Congress president Rahul Gandhi and several other leaders on Thursday visited AIIMS to enquire about the health condition of former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, his second visit in less than 24 hours.

The prime minister was at the hospital for a little over 45 minutes. Modi had visited the hospital yesterday evening also to enquire about Vajpayee's condition.

As anxiety grew about the state of the 93-year-old leader's health, a stream of leaders, including Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu and Union ministers Sushma Swaraj and Rajnath Singh, visited the hospital. 

Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan was also at the hospital. 
Vajpayee is battling for life and remains on advanced life support at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences for the second day. 


LEADERS PRAY FOR RECOVERY  

A number of leaders cutting across party lines prayed for the recovery of the former prime minister.

Senior BJP leaders L K Advani, Vice President Venkaiah Naidu, Rajnath Singh, JP Nadda, party president Amit Shah, Shahnawaj Hussain, Manoj Tiwari, Anurag Thakur, Vijay Goyal, Udit Rai, Prakash Javedkar, Harsh Vardhan visited him at the hospital.

Leaders from other political parties, including Congress's Ghulam Nabi Azad, Ram Vilas Paswan from Lok Janshakti Party (LJP), NC's Farooq Abdullah, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and his deputy Manish Sisodia, visited the premier health institute.

BJP MP Udit Raj's maintained that his condition remains the same. "We pray for his fast recovery. Atalji is a very big personality. He respects every section of society," he said.
